Identification and Notification

• You are entitled one unique ID. Your display name can be changed from the profile settings page.
• Email will only be used to send notifications and updates for items to which you are subscribed. By default, these include site-wide announcements, discussion threads, and personal messages.
• Use a valid and active email address to ensure that you receive notifications.
• Your email address will not be disclosed to anyone unless you send an email message to another member via our system. In that case, your email address will become visible to the member whom you contact.
• Your privacy is important to us. Further details are in our privacy policy.

Behavior

• Civil Language: Keep your language polite. While profanity is not entirely forbidden, use it in moderation and only if necessary. Generally, other disallowed content includes but is not limited to intentionally misleading, defamatory, vulgar, hateful, threatening, obscene, or law-violating posts.
• No Trolling: Do not make posts which are meant to start disruptive arguments. Intelligent and thoughtful debate is encouraged, but fighting is not tolerated.
• No Spamming: Anyone who posts the same or very similar content repeatedly or in multiple areas will be considered a spammer and be banned immediately. Spamming is not allowed in the forums, any comments, or messages/emails sent to other members.
• No Piracy: Piracy of any copyrighted material is not condoned. Do not link to websites that facilitate piracy (including sites that link to others).
• Appropriate Links and Images: In publicly viewable areas, all posted content must be appropriate for a non-adult (under age 18) audience.
• Mutual Respect: Even if you do not get along with particular members, learn to respect their views. Purposely sabotaging a discussion constitutes trolling.

Moderation and Administration

• The same code of conduct holds true for and towards staff members.
• We'll do our best to warn people when they're doing something wrong and to edit/delete inappropriate posts, but we can't catch every single infraction. You can help out by reporting bad posts.
• Instead of publicly arguing against an action that you feel is unfair or questioning a decision, send a messages the staff member(s) to privately discuss the matter.
